Jamie Wei Huang is a contemporary womenswear label. The label is founded by Jamie Wei Huang after graduating from Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins Art and Design College in London.

During her studies, Huang has worked in high-end fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane and she is also hired as one of the costume designer and tailor for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympics’ closing ceremony.

The ideal of the brand is to personify simplicity with the use of a clean refined outline and masculine details.

Huang’s most recent collection (Spring Summer 2015 – Metaphysics), shown at LFW fashion scout, was a display of varying colours and textures to create an all-round modern and luxe collection.

Crisp whites were contrasted against neon yellows, bold emeralds and cyan blues. Juxtaposing cottons and silks were combined with furry fabrics, shearling and leather.

Chunky leather buckle details were added to many of Huang’s designs by placing them as pocket details, around the neckline and on the shoulders. This added to the uniqueness of her designs and ensembles.

Her quirky and contemporary designs included oversized jackets tied at the neck and worn open with nothing underneath, pink shearling and white leather crop tops, fuzzy jumper dresses, short suits and grid-print two pieces.
